This is the historic location for FreeBSD security advisories and patches,
and contains an archive of files referenced in this location.  Current
security advisiories and patches are now located at:

  http://security.FreeBSD.org/

This directory hierarchy is maintained to assist users of FreeBSD in
the tracking and resolution of security related issues.

	README			- this file
	POLICY.asc		- the policy in use for advisories
	public_key.asc		- PGP key for Security Officer

	advisories/		- descriptions of security issues
				  that may potentially affect FreeBSD
				  sites.

	patches/		- patches to work around or solve security
				  issues described in advisories.

	The FreeBSD project has selected two individuals who are well
	known in the security community to act as liasons to all
	security incident response teams.  Please always use the
	security officer alias to report security issues that should
	remain confidential.  PGP encrypted mail is both accepted and
	encouraged to maintain privacy.

	The security officer's public key is available from all major
	PGP key servers or via:

	list are FreeBSD Security Advisory bulletins.  No discussion
	occurs on this mailing list.  The FreeBSD project suggests that
	all users responsible for system security subscribe to this
	mailing list.

	All official FreeBSD Security Advisory bulletins will be
	protected by a digital signature provided by PGP.
