From the Artist

August 23rd, 2003
Wild West
by Kate England

These icons were originally inspired by Mindy and her interesting, colourful e-mails about Texas. Texas captured my mind, the dirt storms, the state flower, the cattle and the scrapers of Dallas...

When I set out to experiment with these ideas in icon form, the project took a different turn and focused on the world of the cowboy. The Wild West. In researching the cowboy, I realised that there are cowboys in many parts of the world including Mexico, France, Australia as well as in Hollywood and the Wild West of USA.

These icons are my interpretation of the dusty prairies. The dangers and excitement. The day-to-day life as well as the glamorous dream.

Yeehaa!
Kate

Thank you Mindy for putting the idea in my head and for being a loving and encouraging friend as well as a brilliant icon artist.

Thank you Dave for being who you are, for your enthusiasm, for your warm and generous heart

Thank you Marvilla at DesignTechnika for handling the Windows conversions with such skill.
