popclk.exe
There are no parameters. All you have to do is click on the icon in MyComputer and it will run. The default annual rate is based on the increase in world population between the middle of 2003 and the projected population at the middle of 2004. This rate is defined as ANNRATE in the program.
Note: popclk may be used for any annual change in data. For example, it can show you real time change in economic data. Use the Edit option on the menu bar to change the rate or caption.
As an exersize you can try changing the rate to 500 billion and the caption to 'National Debt'.
If you base your annual rate of change on too small an area, the change will be too slow to show in real time. The change in population for a city would be too small to show in this program.
The Help option on the menu bar shows you the fractions of a second for each new person added to the world's population. It also shows you copyright and version information.
The Time option on the menu bar allows you to switch between absolute and relative time.
The File option on the menu bar allows you to reset the count and relative time back to zero. You also exit the program from this option.
The Edit option on the menu bar allows you to change the rate of change as well as the caption on the title bar.
popclk shows the total change in population from the time the program starts running.
The client area in the main window is designed to be small. This allows you to tuck the window in a corner of your screen while you are working on another task.
