NOTE - Irmen de Jong's amiga python pages have disappeared, so we've downloaded a copy of the 1.4 binaries, in ftp://ftp.python.org/pub/python/binaries-1.4/python1.4-amiga.lha . The following information is no longer accurate, and we haven't located a source distribution. ~~~~ AMIGA PYTHON ~~~~ SOURCE CODE: The latest source code for the Amiga version of Python 1.3 can now be obtained from the Amiga Python home page, url http://www.cs.vu.nl/~irmen/python.html. Useful other information, bug reports, and future plans can also be found here. Currently the sources are meant to be compiled with the SAS/C compiler, version 6.56. Only the source code files are included, the other files (docs, library files etc) must be obtained from other sources. Because of the amount of changes it is no longer convenient to distribute a changes-only archive. I decided to include all sources needed for compilation. BINARY AND LIBRARY FILES: The binary and library distribution is available on Aminet as dev/lang/Python13.lha. So, for instance, try one of the mirrors, ftp.doc.ic.ac.uk:/pub/aminet/dev/lang/Python13.lha. Please read the README files, included in the archives! I will try to keep the source code of the most recent release available, at the above mentioned place. The sources of the old release (december 1995) are still available, for those interested. Get them from here (AmigaPython.lha). It is advised however, to get the NEW sourcecode instead. April 25, 1996 Irmen de Jong PS: The above information may change. Check the Amiga Python homepage for the up-to-date information. (http://www.cs.vu.nl/~irmen/python.html)
