Begin4 Title: xconcordancer Version: 0.9 Entered-date: 2000-4-29 Description: xconcordancer is a powerful text file concordancing and word-counting program. It tracks, alphabetizes, and notes the location of all words used in a text file. Word locations can be determined by paging using the formfeeds (if any) in the file, by a certain number of lines per page, by lines, or by marked stanzas. Multiple files comprising a large document can be concordanced in order as xconcordancer allows the operator to indicate what the starting page or line number to consider the first page or line of the document to be. At conclusion, xconcordancer outputs 2 files: a file containing all the words, with their length, and the number of times they were used in the file concordanced, along with all the locations (by page, line, or stanza) in the file where each word was used; and a file that indicates the usage of the various letters of the alphabet in the condordanced file by percentage of usage graphed. xconcordancer is written in C++ and its GUI for XWindows was created using Motif, V. 2.1.10.
